If you’re my friend, I’ll always have your back, but if I like you as more than a friend, you’re getting a whole extra box of perks. To share what those perks are, this video will cover 10 things girls do when they have feelings for you. From how she behaves to the gestures she shows, you’ll quickly learn the top signs to look out for. When a girl likes you, she will always do this:
1. She’ll take care of you when you’re sick.
When you’re feeling under the weather, have a cold, virus, or any other type of illness, she’s going to be a worry wart. She’ll be asking you how you feel every hour while offering to bring you soup or help you out. If you let her get inside your home, she’ll be catering to you as if you were a lost, sick child. When my boyfriend is feeling sick, I’m at his door within the hour with medicine, soup, and the cuddles he needs. A girl who likes you won’t let you do things yourself because she wants you to recuperate as fast as possible. Don’t take it offensively, though, as she’ll do it with all the love in the world. She isn’t going to leave your side until you feel better or force her out of your home.

2. She’ll hold you accountable.
Part of being a supportive partner is keeping your other half on track. While this chick isn’t your girlfriend – at least not yet – she’s going to hold you accountable so that you reach your goals. A personal example I can share is from back when I met my boyfriend. He was studying for a certificate at work and I remember encouraging him when he was anxious about his first set of exams. I helped him study, celebrated with him when he passed those exams, and I have continued the supportive role as our relationship progressed. Later on, when I got my master’s, he did the same for me. Accountability is important if you truly want the best for the other person, as she does for you.
3. She’ll look to you for safety.
While I agree and know that women are strong, there will be moments when she needs to feel safe and secure with the help of someone else. She’ll turn to you in moments when she’s scared. This could be a physical scare, like when she’s walking home alone and chooses to call you. Or, it could be an emotional scare, like when she’s going through a tough time with her family and needs to lean on you emotionally. You are her safe space, which is a huge compliment and a role saved for someone she likes. This means you give her the security and trust that most other people don’t – good for you!
4. She’ll share her insecurities with you.
This will only happen once you two have established a deep friendship, so don’t look out for this sign if you’ve just met her recently. Once she feels she can really trust you and likes you for more than your good looks, she’ll open up and share her insecurities with you. Maybe she’ll share worries she has about her future or self-esteem issues she’s working through. The point is that she sees you as someone she can confide in. This is your time to offer a non-judgmental ear and support her as best you can to leave her insecurities behind.
5. She’ll get excited about your achievements.
Being supportive during the bad is vital, but celebrating during the good is almost as important. Just like how I celebrated with my boyfriend once he passed those exams, she’s going to be your number one fan once you cross whatever finish line you’re aiming towards. She’ll want to take you out, brag about your accomplishments to her friends and family, and show you how proud she is of your efforts.

6. She’ll defend you.
While some girls may actually fistfight for you, I don’t condone this type of behavior. The type of defense I’m referencing is verbal. You’re not always going to have everyone on your side. Even if you’re kind and considerate, some jerks out there may be against you in private and try badmouthing you to this girl. This could especially happen if any other guy wants to steal her away from you. Don’t get too worried, though. If anyone speaks poorly of you in front of a girl who likes you, they’re going to regret it. She’ll defend you tooth and nail because she truly believes in all the good you possess. She may even tell you about the experience so you can avoid the bad-talker and be impressed by her loyalty.
7. She’ll surprise you.
There’s nothing quite like seeing a smile on a guy’s face when you surprise him with something totally unexpected. This could be physical, like an exciting gift, or non-physical like giving him a piece of great news he never saw coming. Whatever she does will be thoughtful and you’ll definitely be impressed with the delivery. When I started dating my boyfriend I would always try and surprise him with baked goods, fun plans, or sweet and unexpected messages. This is something I’ve kept going during our relationship and I know he truly appreciates it and takes it as a token of my love for him.
8. She’ll offer to help.
Women have a great sense of observation. We tend to be more detail-oriented than men, and some scientific studies have also shown that women interpret the feelings of others better than their male counterparts. A girl who likes you will be quick to notice when something is off. If you’re overwhelmed, anxious, lost, or alone, she’ll be the first person to lend a helping hand or hug or to do whatever else you need. You may not want to share how you’re feeling, but she’ll likely guess it just by observing you. My boyfriend doesn’t even have to tell me when he’s stressed; I have grown to notice it quickly and immediately offer my help with whatever it is that’s stressing him out. If you need support, take it from her. It will be genuine and heartfelt.
9. She’ll ask about your friendships.
If you have any friends that this girl doesn’t know very well, especially female friends, she’s going to get curious. She’ll want to know the extent of these friendships. Get ready to hear innocent questions at first, like asking how you know each other, how long you’ve been friends, and the like. What she’s trying to do is get enough information to figure out if there ever was or will be something between you and these so-called female friends. If one of these girls is your ex, don’t be surprised if she suddenly isn’t very fond of her. I wouldn’t be either.
10. She’ll remember the little things you say.
Mention your favorite candy in passing months ago and you may just get it as a gift from her on Valentine’s Day. Tell her you want to try a new restaurant and she may make plans to have lunch with you there next weekend. When a girl likes a guy, she makes mental notes of most things he says and does. This is how she builds a profile for what he likes and doesn’t like. By being able to cater to your preferences, she will grow your friendship with the hopes of turning it into something more.
