This is one of the top wow-factor ways to tell someone you like them and only musically inclined people typically try it out. If you’re more like me and like music but aren’t blessed with a charming voice, you could do the music alternative and make them a playlist or even lip sync. Put songs on there that you both like, but make sure to include enough titles about liking them, so they get the picture. This is equivalent to the old fashion mixtapes, and nobody makes a mixtape unless it’s for someone they like.
3. Ask them to be your date for an important event.
Asking someone to be your lab partner is not romantic or special. Telling someone to go shopping with you does nothing. Asking someone to prom, to a wedding, or to an office party, on the other hand, is a BIG DEAL. These are events that are obviously few and far between, and your friend will understand that this is a big decision on your part. If they don’t figure out you like them through the invitation, they sure will have the chance to when you two are hand-in-hand on the dance floor the day of the party. You know those best friends would tell almost everything to their best friends. If you want the news to travel to your friend, go after the best friend and you know, casually tell them that you like their best friend, which is your friend that you have a crush on if I confused you. Then this way, you let the news soak in and when you go see your friend the next day or so, look at how they react. If it’s positive, then confess right then and there. If it’s negative, well still confess right then and there. Because you know why? You miss all your shots you don’t take. Was that motivating enough?
5. Make up a cute nickname for them.
Bro, dude, pal, friend, and homie are all cool nicknames… if you’re trying to keep them in the bro-dude-pal-homie-friend zone. If you like this person, their nickname should match your feelings. Don’t over-exaggerate it and call them your lovey-dovey-marshmallow-lilypad-love-machine. Chill. Think cuter, simpler, and sweet. 6. Confess outside their bedroom window.
This is a little bit more romantic, but remember you have be friends first, no strangers or acquaintances because it’s weird. Like you have to be good friends to do this. You’ll probably want to go to their house when the sun is about to set… just be reasonable and make sure there’s some light and not three in the morning when the neighbors will call the cops on you. Then, take some small pebbles – NOT ROCKS– and throw them at your friend’s bedroom window. When they come to the window to investigate, you can either whisper your message or have it written on a sign. Add music if you don’t mind onlookers. Music or not, this is one creative confession! So, you know what they’re thinking. Ask them what they’re looking for in a relationship. This will open up the conversation and also give you some crucial information on whether or not your confession will be taken positively or negatively. If they warn you that they would rather take summer school than date, anyone, right now, you have the opportunity to postpone your confession. But on the other hand, if they tell you they’re on a hunt to look for a relationship, you have an opportunity to shoot your shot.
8. Find out their love language, and use it.
People respond best to affection shown in their love language. Some people like gifts, others like words of affirmation, physical touch, acts of service, or spending quality time. Find out which one of these is most important to your friend, and then use this method to tell them you like them. There’s not a big drawback to this, it’s basically helping you win their heart.
