How Guys Text When They Like You
Guys are known for being bad at texting. I’m talking about those one-word responses, those 48-hour lag time, and those comma-less sentences. But occasionally you do have those guys who are nice, communicative, and responsive. And if they are like that, you’re probably wondering what their intentions are. Are they trying to get at me or are they just being nice? Let’s hope they are indeed trying to get at you and let’s cover these 10 signs on how guys text when they like you.
1. The what’s-up text
So, you’re minding your own business just going along with your day studying or working, and then all of a sudden you get the generic “what’s up, hey, or whatcha doing” text. There’s obviously something up with him if he’s reaching out to you. He wants you to text him because he’s probably bored or just wanting some attention from you because he likes you. If he didn’t like you, he wouldn’t be texting you the first place.
2. The double text
Sometimes it’s probably because he has a lot to say and it’s okay, but if he sent you a text an hour ago or quite some time ago and you still haven’t responded back, another text might just randomly hit your inbox. In this case, he’s probably still thinking about you. Sometimes sending two texts at different time frame might look desperate, but hey he probably doesn’t care. No shame no game, right?
3. The random-question text
You know what’s great about texting? Not being face-to-face in front of that person. In person, you can’t just randomly say dumb stuff and expect things to be not get awkward. But in text, it’s different, the awkwardness might not be so apparent and the receiver of the text is most likely going to reply back unless they don’t like you. If you get a text like, “Oh so do you have a crush?” Then you already know he’s fishing for you.
4. The are-you-busy text
Are you busy right now? Are you busy this Saturday? Or so forth. He’s probably thinking about something. That something is most likely going to include you in it. Possibly a potential hang-out? He’s trying to get a feel for your availability and just making sure that if he invites you, you’re down to go. I mean at least he’s trying to warm up for that bat so he can get a home run if he asks you out.
5. The daily-activity text
You know the good morning and good night text are like the basics when he likes you, but letting you know what he’s up to is different. He’s just keeping you update on his daily routine and probably trying to make himself look like he has a life. Besides that, if he’s sending you pictures of what he’s doing, then you already know this guy is all yours because no guys will do that unless he’s trying to get at you.
6. The inside-joke text
Sooner or later you’ll both have an inside joke if you don’t have one, yet. Trust me if you both are texting non-stop every day, something is bound to happen. Whether you said something or accidentally sent something hilarious, it could turn into a joke. But of course, it is just to make you laugh so you’ll think he’s funny and like him more. I mean that’s the strategy, right?
7. The needy text
This consists of “I miss you,” “I wish you are here,” or something like “come over.” But of course, if you’re getting these texts, he’s probably extremely comfortable with you already. But if not, there’s a tone down version of this which is basically being super sweet, cute and nice to you over text. Like so cute that if an outsider were to read it, they’ll get the chills. (I might be only just another guy to you, but you are the world to me.)
8. The cute-name text
Pumpkin pie, sweetie pie, cutie-pie, Pewdiepie could be you if he likes you. I mean he can call you anything cute, it doesn’t have to be a pie, I just like pies. Like the actual pies. But I’m sure if he gives you a cute nickname, it’s a good sign that he likes you.
9. The thoughtful text
Let say you were going on a family vacation and decided to travel by plane. Before the plane ride he sends you a safe trip kind of text and after the plane ride he ask you how the plane ride was. If that’s the case, you know he’s pretty sweet and caring about you. And if a guy is that sweet and caring about you, then he totally likes you.
10. The I-want-to-get-to-know-you-more text
It’s a great sign when he wants to get to know you more. If he wasn’t interested, he wouldn’t be texting you in the first place. A stronger indicator is that if he’s trying to find out what you’re interested in, then he can start talking about things that you like which would probably make you like him more since you’ll find it easier to connect with him. But it does mean a lot when he’s being more engaging in the conversation than just sending one-word responses.
Overall, if this guy is texting you all day, every day, that should be a major hint that he likes you, because let’s be real, you can’t honestly tell me he’s just a friend who’s not interested in you. When was the last time you were texting a guy non-stop and he wasn’t interested? Exactly. Plus, he’s a guy. Guys don’t just text for fun and not be interested. So that’s how guys text when they like you.
