You and your friend are cool, but there may be some heat between the two of you. Is she trying to get out of the friend zone? Here are 8 signs a female friend likes you more than a friend.
1. She asks to meet your family.
If this girl is your friend, you’ve probably mentioned your parents, siblings, crazy aunt, or super cute grandma to her, so she may bring up that she wants to meet them. This is definitely a friend who is taking a step to get closer to you. Unless you’re describing your really hot brother, she probably only wants to meet your family because she feels close to you already. Most girlfriends end up trying to create positive relationships with their boyfriend’s family. I know I stayed in touch with my ex’s grandma for a while even after we broke up, so this goes to show that family relationships are a strong part of romantic relationships too.

2. She tells you secrets about friends you have in common.
Since you two are pals, you probably share other friends in common as well. To show you that your friendship with her is special, this girl may cross a line and share group secrets with you. These secrets could be about people in your friend group or about other friends that you know of. Most people know that girls tend to tell their boyfriends almost everything, but she’s jumping into this territory early to see if she’ll reach the boyfriend end-goal.
3. She offers to pick you up and take you places.
If she’s got no problem being your Uber, it could be one of two things. She either does this with everyone because she doesn’t mind driving, likes the sense of being in control, and wants to leave whenever she wants. If she does this specifically with you and not with other friends – especially if you live out of the way – she’s trying to make hanging out as easy as possible for you so that you can spend more time together.
When my old work crush didn’t have a car, I would offer to drive him home after our shifts even if it meant I had to wait for him to clock out. It was my way of getting that alone time with him. A girl knows she’ll have a little more say when it comes to where you go and how long you hang out for, so she can get in more quality time with you than if she just let you arrange the hangout.
4. OR She always wants you to drop her off last.
This is a slick little move a girl can do to get more alone time with the guy she’s into – AKA you. When you’re hanging out in a group you can’t always get that one-on-one flirty time or open up as much, and that is what she’s trying to do when she asks you to drop her off last. All of your other friends are out of the way and you two get some solo time to end the night. Who knows? She might even be setting you up for the perfect goodnight kiss.

5. She’ll buy holiday gifts for you but not for other friends.
A generous friend is cool, but they’re generous with everyone. A friend who likes you is going to be extra generous only to you, especially when it comes to special gifts. She may sneak you a cool birthday gift or even arrange to get your name during a Secret Santa. Whatever the holiday, she’s sure to buy you something special that makes you think of her for months to come.
6. She wants to meet any new friends you make.
Since you guys are already friends, she should more or less know who you hang out with. If you suddenly make new friends, though, she’ll see this as a threat because she doesn’t know them and they could include new girls who have the same feelings for you as she does. That’s why she may push to meet your new friends, whether that’s by inviting herself or by openly telling you that she’d love to meet so-and-so.
7. She tells you she’s off the dating apps.
Dating apps are all the rage nowadays and almost every single person has them downloaded, even if they don’t always use them. That’s why when a girl makes a point to tell you she’s off the dating apps, she’s actually saying she’s ready for something serious and she’s limiting that dating to people she already knows. This is a big sign for you because – FYI – you guys already know each other pretty well.
8. She asks you about things on your social media.
When you find this girl asking you about your trip to New York when you didn’t tell her you went, she’s doing some social media stalking. Now, if you posted about your trip 100 times across social media platforms, this doesn’t mean she likes you. The key is that you barely posted about the event, only posted one quick story, or were tagged at the event by someone else, but she found out anyway. This means she’s digging in deep and you would only do this if you like someone. I know when I like someone, I do a full analysis of their tagged photos, posted photos, and stories, and I am definitely not the only one. We all have our FBI agent skills ready for our crush, don’t we ladies?
