A favorite saying of mine is that being a little weird prevents you from being boring, and I stand by that. Even so, there are some just plain strange things girls do when they start to like someone. If you’re noticing weird behavior or wondering if a certain chick is into you, see if you can relate to these 14 weird things girls do when they have a crush on you.
1. Add your friends and family on social media.
Once she has you on social media, she’s going to pull a private investigator stalking spree on you. You’ve probably seen the memes and you know that any young woman can go from 0 to 100 real quick when it comes to stalking a guy online. She’ll investigate anyone tagged in your pictures, anyone tagging you in pictures, anyone commenting on your pictures, and anyone liking multiple photos of you. This is how she’s going to find your friends and family and, if she’s got enough guts, she’ll request to follow them so that she can get a little more intel on where you come from and where you may be going.

2. Overanalyze every word you say.
The younger the girl is the more she’ll overanalyze, especially if she’s not emotionally mature. This means that your two-sentence text is going to be read about 15 times before she interprets what it means and responds accordingly. This may come off as her asking a lot of questions and trying to clarify situations or even getting upset at something that she misconstrued in her mind. Think about a situation with your last crush – can you relate to overanalyzing the simplest interactions? If so, let me know about it in the comments! And, when it comes to this girl, just try to say things with clarity and be honest to give her a hand with calming her overthinking.
3. Hate any girl that dares to flirt with you.
We may be able to control our responses as time goes on, but there will always be this spark of jealousy or dislike that appears when you see someone else hitting on your man – yes, even if he technically isn’t your man just yet. Hate may be a strong word, but when she catches another girl trying to stroll into her territory, she will hate on her. It may be a temporary dislike, a mean look, an eye roll at her best friend, or some other action that gives it away, but you’ll be able to tell pretty quickly.
4. Pretend to forget something so she can see you again.
Leaving behind something is a great trick for returning for some one-on-one time. There’s an old sitcom called Seinfeld that had one character do it as a signature move. He would pop by a girl’s work or even her home and “accidentally” leave his hat, scarf, keys, or some other item near her.
Then, a bit later when he knew the girl would still be there – and hopefully alone – he would pop back in to collect his item and use it as an excuse to chat a bit more or even get some alone time in. If she forgets things like a hair clip, sweater, water bottle, or other small items more than once, she may be a Seinfeld fan or a fan of you. 5. Compare your zodiac signs.
Zodiac signs have become all the rage lately. Whether she believes in them or not, she may ask you about your sign to see if you two are compatible. Whether it be for insight or entertainment, you can be sure she’ll be looking up your character traits to see if you two could be a match. By the way, I’ve checked our zodiac signs and they’re a match, so don’t forget to like and subscribe to stay connected; you know I appreciate you!
6. Bite their lip.
Some girls may bite their lip when looking at you in an attempt to be sexy. It’s long been a behavior that is commonly associated with attraction and desire. When someone bites their lip, it can be seen as a hint that they desire intimacy and romance with you. This may also be done subconsciously, usually as an expression of another feeling that can’t be expressed. She may want to kiss you or tell you how she feels but instead holds it in so her body expresses the energy in another way. Not only that but biting the lip can also draw attention to the mouth, which is usually considered sensual and alluring.
7. Raise their eyebrows.
Different sociological, and psychological studies have shown that we tend to raise our eyebrows when we’re interested in something. This could be the topic of conversation or it could be that a person we’re looking at draws our attention. If you find that she raises her eyebrows quite a few times in conversation with you or even when looking at you from afar, it seems that the spotlight is on you.
8. Giggle when you’re in the room.
Even a 50-year-old woman could express a little giggle with her best friend if you suddenly walk into the room. This comes from the combination of being flustered, having a friend nearby who knows about her feelings, and giggling out of potential embarrassment.
9. Get close to you.
On one hand, the girl who has a crush on you is going to desire some alone time to get to know you better. This means that even in a group setting she will seem to be drawn to you like a magnet, whether it be her strolling over right away or slowly stepping her way over to your side to start a conversation.
10. Avoid you if they have a faux pas.
On the flip side, she is going to run for the hills if she’s recently committed a faux pas around you. For anyone who isn’t familiar with the term, this is a big boo-boo, no-no, or an embarrassing mistake. If you want to laugh, I’ll share about a time when my crush hugged me and picked me up at the same time. It sounds cute, right? Except that he squeezed me too tight and I let out a tiny fart. Man, did I run out of that building fast, and I avoided his gaze for four weeks afterward. I still blush just thinking about it.
11. Adjust their look.
You could’ve sworn that this girl loved her sweats and a natural look, but suddenly you see her dressing up and adding on an extra layer of makeup. Maybe she even gets her hair done differently or goes through other new self-care routines. Perhaps she’s just undergoing a personal makeover, or perhaps a certain someone is motivating her to make the change.

12. Turn up their nurturing side.
This action could be weird or it could be neutral. Naturally, a nurturing girl is going to be caring and that’s pretty normal, but if she starts to get mom-nurturing on you, then that’s a weird new level of intense. This includes helicoptering over you as if you are a child who’s going to get sick or doesn’t know how to eat, exercise, sleep, or do anything on your own. Back in the day one of my friends who shall not be named was such a helicopter crush. She would try so hard to make sure her crush was ok that he ended up freaking out and asking her to give him some space. She meant well, but it just wasn’t well executed.
13. Text you a million times a day.
Almost always across the board, guys just don’t talk as much as girls. The same is said for texting. I’ve read my brother’s dry messages with friends and even the group chats have little to say in comparison to my hours-long conversation with my girlies. This is a standard difference that pops when a girl likes you. You’re going to be on her mind 24/7 or pretty darn close to it, so she’s naturally going to reach out to you. You’ll get random messages, funny messages, interview-ish messages, and everything in between from her. Oh, and don’t forget she’ll be overanalyzing your answers, so for the love of all things good just tell her you’re busy if you won’t be able to respond for hours.
14. Learn about everything you like.
The last weird and slightly invasive thing a girl will do when she has a crush on you is learn everything that she can about you – literally every single thing. She’ll use social media, your friends, texts, your hobbies, and any conversation you two have to learn about what you like, don’t like, and want.
This is the only way she’ll be able to adapt to you in a way that may give her a shot at romance. Take her behavior with a grain of salt though. She may not be as into your sports team as she seems to be at the beginning. I remember loving a certain football team so much when my ex was into them. Nowadays I could care less if I see them play. Funny how that works, huh? Time will tell if she can really relate or if she’s just into the same things because she’s into you.
Conclusion:
We all change our behavior around our crush, especially at first when we’re more nervous and jittery. If you notice a girl doing at least five of these things around you, she may like you. Eight or more and you’ve got a crush in your midst. Now it’s time to decide what you’re going to do about it! I wish you the best of luck.
