10 Signs the Universe Wants You to Be with Someone

Most of us have had a moment where we desperately wish to be with someone. So much so that we basically invent reasons why we should be together. We could literally be bombarded by 100 red flags but no; I am meant to be with that person. I know it! Do you though? Are you making it up or are you really meant to be together? Check out these 10 signs the universe wants you to be with someone; if you can check off at least five, then maybe you really should be together!

1. You run into each other unexpectedly.

Whether you’re a woo—woo vibes and frequencies kind of person or a strictly scientific individual, there is some truth to the idea that we live in a world full of energy. Sometimes things are too coincidental to be coincidental, like if you run into this person multiple times without either of you planning it. Now, this doesn’t count if you both live in the same apartment complex and happen to run into each other in the parking garage. That’s too easy. This is more if you see them in unexpected places that neither of you frequent.

I’ll give you an example. I recently stopped seeing this guy even though we both really liked each other. I went to a new friend’s BBQ and guess who showed up? The guy. Does the universe want us to be together? No, because I met my new friend at this guy’s gym. Not a big coincidence, just a shared social circle. Now, if instead I won random tickets to a baseball game that weekend and I happened to be sitting two rows above this guy when he doesn’t even like baseball, then that, my friend, is running into each other unexpectedly. See the difference?

2. You have a shared vision for the future.

Too many times we force relationships without thinking deeply about the long term. This person is cute and fun so we go for it and end up falling for them — hard. Then, too little too late, we realize that our plans for the long term don’t align and we experience tension and heartbreak. The universe wants synchrony, and that’s what you’ll find with your person. Your plans for the future align. They mesh like two people holding hands. You find yourself saying, “Yes, exactly!” way too often. This connection is rare and should be treasured.

3. They reach out to you at the moment you’re thinking of them.

You ever think about someone and then they call you? This phenomenon has no legitimate explanation but, man, does it happen often. Call it what you may, but this is one sign that the universe may want you to be with someone. You two are thinking of each other at the same time and possibly with the same intensity and intentions. You miss each other and you want to reconnect.

4. Other people say you’re meant to be.

Sometimes the universe uses other people to show you things you can’t see yourself. Outsider perspectives often show us a viewpoint we would never see on our own. If you have a lot of your inner circle agreeing that you and this person are meant to be, it’s not just that you’re de—lu—lu—lusional. It may be a real thing.

5. The attraction is undeniable.

Another sign that the universe pushes two people together is when there is this instant pull, a chemistry if you will, from the get-go. You ever meet someone and you’re just unspeakably attracted to them? It’s not that they’re an Instagram model or a celebrity, you guys just pull towards one another unexplainably. And, yes, I’m talking about physical attraction here. This happened to me twice in my life. The first and most notable was with an old coworker I had. From the second he stepped into the office, I thought he was the hottest thing since sliced bread. The thing is, I could step back and say that he was no hotter than other guys I had seen before, but there was this spark that I couldn’t explain. Such attraction doesn’t happen often, and you’ll notice its uniqueness instantly.

6. Your interactions are effortless.

We covered the physical attraction, but now we have the second just—as—important layer — the internal. When the universe brings you the person you’re supposed to be with, your interactions are going to be effortless, particularly at the beginning. It’s easy to open up, share, laugh, cry, listen, hang out, compromise, and be together. You will be able to mesh your schedules, be understanding around conflicts, and learn about each other excitedly. When it’s real, it’s easy. Again — not forever or 24/7, but definitely all the time at the beginning.

7. You dream about them.

I’ll be the first to say that some dreams don’t make sense. If I watch a Spongebob episode then go to bed and dream I live in Bikini Bottom, I am not meant to be a cartoon character. It was just a dream. But if you keep dreaming of realistic scenarios with this person, even when you aren’t always thinking of them before bed, then it may be a greater sign pointing you in their direction.

8. You bring out the best in each other.

The universe doesn’t want chaos or disorder. That’s why we have seasons, cycles, and lifespans. When things have order, they are aligned and fulfill their purpose. The same goes for relationships. When the universe brings two people together, they bring out the best in each other so that each person is pushed toward growth and destiny.

9. There’s an unspoken sense of safety when you’re together.

Just as how the universe wants order, the ultimate goal is also peace and stability. When you’re meant to be with someone, you have a sense of security with them that doesn’t come naturally with other people. The usual order of building relationships requires building trust — and that can be a lengthy process depending on your background and who you are meeting. But now and again, you’ll meet someone who seems to earn your trust in a heartbeat and vice versa. You have each others’ backs from the start and you would put your hand on the flame that this person would never hurt you on purpose. That’s a universal connection right there.

10. You feel it in your gut.

Intuition has no logical explanation, but it’s something inside you feel and know. You just know that this person is meant to be in your life in some way, shape, or form. And that feeling doesn’t go away — no matter how much you try to reason with it. That’s the universe.
